How to Help us Translate


1. Choose Role


There are two different translator roles.

Translator Member

Anyone can be a translator member and contribute to translating Channel to new languages. All you have to do is create an translator account.

Translator Leader

If you wish to be a translator leader you will have the role of controlling how the translation is proceeding, approve and correct errors. You will as a leader be the last one to control everything before it gets published. All leaders needs to be approved by Channel.

2. Create Account


When you are translating you are going to use a service called Crowdin. Sign up for Crowdin here:

3. Set Language


After activating your account, you have to set your preferred language. Set your language here:

4. Start Translating


Start to translate, but we do suggest you finish reading this whole guide on how to translate first!

Go to the translation portal:

http://translate.channel.me

Click the language you want to translate:

Here you'll find two categories:

- Website

- Toolbar (the Channel Web Application)

Pick what you wish to translate, and click on the green "Translate" button.

The left box indicates what words and phrases are waiting to be translated. The green dot showing what has been translated.

Extra - Translate the words in context


You can see how translations will look like on our website. And even more, all the translations could be made right on the website!

Before you can do this you have to add the "Translate Channel.me" bookmark to your browser:

Translate Channel.me 

Go to the channel.me website and click on the bookmark. (note: Crowdin is updating there servers, you might have to click a couple of times before something happens)

At the right bottom you can login with your translator account

On the left corner of every text object you will see a note icon, click on it to translate it.
